Peter Smet has served the Burlington Area School District as the Assistant Superintendent for Business Services for the past 15 years. Prior to being named to this position, Smet was the Vocational/Technology Coordinator for the district. He held a similar position in the Wisconsin Dells School District before his move to Burlington.
Smet earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1998 and a Bachelor of Science degree from Wisconsin-Platteville in 1982. He obtained a School Business Manager Certificate from Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1996.
Smet is a member of the Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials and the North American Educational Negotiators. He is actively involved in several community organizations, including the United Way, Burlington Chamber of Commerce Governmental Relations Board, and the Way to Save Advisory Board.
