Burlington High School Counseling Team Wins Program of Promise Award
The Burlington High School Student Personnel Team was presented a Program of Promise Award for its successful submission and evaluation of the the Support Personnel Accountability Report Card for Wisconsin (SPARC-W). Accepting the award on behalf of the BHS Student Support Personnel Team at the Wisconsin School Counselor Association Conference on February 21st, 2013, were Burlington High School Counselors, Ken France, Tammy Albrecht, Steve Deering, and Jennifer Reuchlen; Counselor Intern, Pilar Rios; BHS Principal, Eric Burling; and BASD Superintendent, Peter Smet. Other members of the BHS Student Personnel team include School Social Worker, Julie Taylor; School Psychologist, Andrew Krupp; and Counseling Department Secretary, Lisa Harris.
The Support Personnel Accountability Report Card for Wisconsin (SPARC-W) is a continuous improvement document that gives a school counseling program and student support team an opportunity to demonstrate effective communication and a commitment to accountability by preparing/analyzing results that guide programming for all students in their academic, personal/social, and career goals. The following areas are addressed in the SPARC-W: School Climate & Safety, Student Results in Academic, Personal/Social, and Career Development, Major Achievements, Community Partnerships/Resources, Volunteer Involvement, Data Collection Tools, Volunteer Involvement, Focus for Improvement, Keeping School Community Informed.
