Service Learning

Understanding the concept of service to others is an integral part of becoming a citizen.  Students at BHS are required to earn  minimum of 40 hours of service learning prior to graduation.

Service learning hours may be earned by volunteering time for a non-profit organization.  Some examples are working for the Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts of America, 4-H Club, Love Inc., St. Vincent De Paul Society, Rotary, Kiwanis, or other service organizations.  Helping an elderly neighbor with yard work, or helping to work at a church festival also qualify.

Be careful; there are some restrictions.  To be sure that your hours receive credit, have your project pre-approved at the BHS main office.

Service Learning forms may be found in the main office or you may download a copy from the link below.
