The Burlington Area School District Budget is made up of several funds.  School districts in the State of Wisconsin use fund accounting to account for and segregate funds for different objectives. 

The General Fund for the district is Fund 10 in the State's accounting system is is the main operating fund of the district.  Other large funds include fund 27 for Special Education and fund 38 and 39 for debt service,  Fund 50 is the school meal program fund.
