Homework for Second Grade:
The ideal after school, at home would include plenty of active play, family interaction, age-appropriate family chores and at least 20 minutes of joyful reading. To support that we will begin the year with a reading record requiring parent signature and no other homework.
Reading – Students should read at least 20 minutes each school night. This can include any reading: take-home book and other books or magazines. Ms. Considine will check the reading record daily. Students and parents may share comments to let me know how its going. Reading with and to your children is our priority.
At-Home Practice Recommendations: (for families who are ready for more)
Math Facts – Practice adding and subtracting facts. Facts to memorize: partners of 10, double facts, addition and subtraction with sums up to 20, also counting forward and backwards by 1s, 10s, 5s, 2s, etc.
Please contact Miss Considine if you would like more ideas or resources for homework.
