NATIONAL DIGITAL LEARNING DAY CELEBRATED

Several schools in the Burlington Area School District on February 1^st, held events to participate in National Digital Learning Day 2012. 

BHS held an in school virtual field trip using Vanguard network.  The students had a press conference with Senator Herb Kohl.  Questions were answered in a round robin format.  The senator spent 40 minutes answering student questions.

Cooper School held a Digital Learning Fair.  Students showcased digital projects and demonstrated to other students multi-media, such as digital cameras, flip cameras, educational software and Apps.

Waller School held Share Your iPad.  Students in grades 1 and 2 partnered with students in grades 3 and 4 to explore Math and Reading Apps on the iPad.

BURLINGTON AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT SEEKING VOLUNTEERS

The Burlington Area School District is seeking community members interested in volunteering in the schools.  Adults can share their expertise in a manner convenient to them, or simply enlist to assist in the schools in areas such as reading to students or helping out in the library.  Interested parties can access the Volunteer Information Form by clicking here.  Prospective volunteers should return the form to the district office.  A data base will be established, and someone from the district will contact you to discuss your interest.  Thank you in advance for considering becoming involved in our children's schools.

WINTER 2012 ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTER
