KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

January 2-31, 2013

This registration is for children who will be 5 on or before September 1, 2013 and plan to attend public school kindergarten in the Burlington Area School District.  Parents will be asked to select their program preference at this time (Full Day Traditional or Full Day Montessori Program). 

PLACE:  Registration Forms can be filled out at any of the elementary schools, the District Office (100 N. Kane Street, Burlington), or may be accessed through the following website:  www.basd.k12.wi.us.

TIME:  During regular school hours 7:45 am - 4:00 pm. If you are unable to come during these hours, please call and a registration form will be mailed to you.           

WHAT TO BRING:  A copy of your child’s birth certificate for verification.

TESTING:  After you have pre-registered you will receive an appointment letter in the spring to bring your child in for vision/hearing and academic testing on either April 18^th or 19^th.

Kindergarten registration is essential to help us plan for your kindergarten student.  School assignments will be determined at a later date.  Please enroll your child today!  Accurate numbers help the district provide appropriate staffing allocations for programming.

Kindergarten Programs

• Traditional Full Day Kindergarten – This classroom is teacher directed/student centered and offers a wide variety of enriching academic and social learning experiences.

• Montessori Full Day Program – This classroom is student self-directed where children are given opportunities to make choices, focus on completing work plans with hands on materials, answer questions, and manage freedom with responsibility.
