Welcome to Karcher Middle School

My name is Marty McGinley and I am proud to call Burlington my home and honored to serve as the principal of Karcher Middle School. At Karcher we are committed to improvement on behalf of the children we serve and embrace the changes necessary to give students a rigorous, and relevant educational experience.

Driven by the guidance of our Roadmap for Instructional Excellence and School Improvement Plans, as well as the expectations of our community as a whole, we have added some increased measures of accountability by initiating the Explore test in 8^th grade and the MAP test for 7^th and 8^th grade. These will give us the diagnostic tools we need to move students from where they currently are to the next developmental step on the learning spectrum. The future is promising for the students of the Burlington Area School District. In the next year we will continue to expand our Character Program, search out advances in technology to advance learning, and ensure a guaranteed and viable curriculum for all students.
