Scholarship applicants must be graduating seniors at Burlington High School and/or Catholic Central in Burlington, Wisconsin for the 2023-2024 academic year. Eligible candidates must be attending an accredited two or four-year college, university, or technical school in the United States. This scholarship will be awarded to an individual that has been involved in any capacity in the performing arts.

2. Must be graduating at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
3. Must be accepted to and enrolled in a two or four year college at the time
this scholarship is awarded.

The AB Nicholas Scholarship Foundation offers scholarships based on need, academic achievement and character for high school senior basketball players and managers, both boys and girls, who plan to attend the University of Wisconsin system, who are residents of Wisconsin.

Restriction:  Student athletes who choose to participate in Division 1 athletics at the college level will not be eligible to receive an AB Nicholas Scholarship due to NCAA regulations.

Students who wish to study plants or gardening in the following areas: Agriculture, Botany, Floral Design, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture or Design, Soil Science, Conservation, or Related Fields.

Must have either been diagnosed with cancer before graduating High School OR have an immediate family member diagnosed with cancer.   Please see the attachment for details and application.

Requirements:

• Must have exhibited swine at the Racine County Fair
• Must be a high school junior or senior
• Must plan to enroll in a post-secondary education program

Basis for Selection of Scholarship Recipients 

● Individuals must have an agricultural background and must enroll in a full-time agricultural related program. 

● Applicants must be attending or planning to attend a post high school agricultural program in the Fall of 2024. (college, community or technical school program or accredited agricultural short course) 

● Applicants must be a resident of Racine, Kenosha, or Walworth County.

This Scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post secondary institution.

• This is not an academic scholarship but we would like to know where you are going to school now and what your future academic plans are.

Multiple scholarships for winners of an essay contest.  Applicants must fill out attached application and type an essay (500-1,000 words).  See application for details.

Essays are judged on originality and subject matter in relationship to the topic.  The essays must also contain correct spelling, grammar and punctuation. Essays must include a bibliographic listing of sources used.

All applicants must be planning to attend a Wisconsin public or private college or university in 2023.

There are two Taylor Memorial Scholarships.  One of them is for students who have played fast pitch softball and the other is for students in the nursing/medical field.  See website link for details.

Qualified students must reside in the Burlington Area School District and be graduates of Burlington High School or Catholic Central High School, Burlington, Wisconsin.
Applicants need not be currently graduating seniors in order to qualify.
The scholarship shall be awarded predicated on character and financial need and an improving academic record over the course of high school.  This scholarship is awarded for both technical or vocational education and traditional college education.
