TARDINESS Tardiness must be reported by phone. Students who do not arrive within 15 minutes of their scheduled starting time will be counted as absent. Students who are tardy will make up the time before the end of the week or the tardy will be considered an absence, no exceptions. Habitual tardiness will result in a conference with the staff and may result in a tardy contract or the student being excused for the quarter.
TRANSPORTATION Students are responsible for finding their own transportation to and from school.
RESPECT Students must demonstrate APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR AND LANGUAGE at all times in and around the school building and campus. Inappropriate behavior will result in a mandatory meeting with the lead teacher and possible suspension. Fighting or other major disruptions at SLCAHS will not be tolerated. Any student who fights on school grounds may be reassigned to their home school.
DRESS CODE Students are expected to dress appropriately and follow the established SLCAHS dress code. (See Appendix A) If you aren’t sure if something is appropriate, don’t wear it until you have discussed the matter with the SLCAHS staff. If a student is dressed inappropriately, his/her parents will be notified and then he/she will be sent home.
SMOKING There is to be NO SMOKING. Any student caught smoking on school grounds before, after, or during school may be cited by police, suspended and/or assigned to a smoking cessation program.

ALCOHOL&DRUGS If a student is SUSPECTED of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, his/her parents will be notified and he/she will be sent home under supervision. The student’s parents and police will be notified; suspension or expulsion may occur.
ELECTRONICS Inappropriate electronics are not to be used during the school day at SLCAHS and will be confiscated until a parent conference is held.
NEW STUDENT All new students will be placed on probation for their first quarter (9 weeks)
PROBATION attendance. During this period the student must demonstrate appropriate behavior, attitude, performance on work, and meet the attendance requirement. New students must earn at least one credit while on probation. New students will be required to spend one extra hour at school every day (contract hour) to give him/her ample time to get help with his/her work. New students who do not meet these requirements will be reassigned to their home school.
ACADEMIC PROBATION Students earning less than one credit during a quarter will be put on academic probation for the following quarter. If the student does not earn at least 1 full credit for a second quarter, he/she will be dismissed from the program and reassigned to his/her home school.
POLICY SLCAHS Staff/Lead Teacher reserves the right to make final decisions
DISCRETION concerning the above guidelines based on individual circumstances.
