Upcoming Opportunities

- CED is offering a wonderful opportunity to help your student prepare for the statewide ACT test that is offered to ALL JUNIORS throughout the state on Saturday, December 13, 2025. The course consists of six Wednesday afternoon sessions focusing on English, Math, Reading/Writing and Science AND a practice test on Saturday, December 6th. The six Tuesday afternoon sessions focus on each of the content areas and practice tests are taken weekly. Tests are scored and explanations are given for each question. Test scores are given to students as well as the correct answers to help better prepare them for the actual test. Our curriculum uses actual ACT test problems to maximize student test scores. This course provides students with a distinct competitive edge on test day.

The Community Education Department will run a recreational youth basketball program for boys and girls in grades 1-6. The program will focus on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and basketball fundamentals. Our intent is to provide an opportunity to learn and improve basketball skills and to provide a positive experience for your child. It’s a great form of exercise during the cold winter months.
Registered players will be assigned to a volunteer coach. Volunteer coaches will be responsible for contacting the players on their roster with practice and game information. All teams will practice and play games on Saturday afternoons.
Each team will practice for one hour on Saturday afternoons on December 13th, December 20th, and January 3rd. Teams will be notified of their practice time in early December.
A six-week game schedule will run from January 10th through February 14th. Games will be one hour on Saturday afternoons. Game times will vary each week, with games at 12PM, 1PM, 2PM, 3PM, or 4PM.
All grades will play at Karcher Middle School. A minimum of 12 children must be registered per age group to offer that age’s league.
Players and volunteer coaches will receive a team t-shirt that will serve as their jersey.
Your involvement as parents is critical to the continued success of this program. Please consider volunteering as a coach; the kids need your support.
Registration Deadline: Sunday, November 23rd.
A $25.00 late fee will be applied if registration and payment are received after the deadline.
