The Burlington Area School District wants its employees to take care of themselves! This site provides information, updates, and links (check these out on the left menu bar) for staff to learn more about wellness activities and well being.
WEA Trust Vitality
Starting July 1, employees may sign up for the WEA Trust Vitality program again. Any previous credentials are no longer valid, so please re-register (Link to registration instructions). Employees must have a BASD WEA Health plan to enroll. Spouses are eligible as well, but adult children will not be able to participate. Learn more about the WEA Trust Vitality program from this flyer.
The district maintains a wellness policy to provide a positive environment and appropriate knowledge regarding food and physical activity for staff and students. The policy is monitored and assessed by a Wellness Advisory Committee. This committee meets quarterly to review the policy and the district’s progress on meeting wellness goals. Interested in getting involved? Please contact the Committee Chairs (Health Services Director and Ruth Schenning). Schools/districts participating in the federal Child Nutrition Programs are required to complete an assessment of their local wellness policy, at minimum, once every three years. The 19-20 report summarizes policy objectives and details the results of the most recent evaluation.
Suggestions? Know of a health-related event to promote? Please contact the Health Services Director.
