Welcome! This is my eleventh year teaching in the Burlington Area School District, and my seventh year teaching at Dyer. I have worked at almost every school in the district, teaching students from kindergarten through sixth grade. On the homefront, I have three children, two boys and a girl. Benjamin is in third grade this year. He's growing up way too fast! Jace, our sunny middle child, started kindergarten this year. His smile lights up the room! He loves to play with his older brother, much to older brother's chagrin sometimes. Miss Adelyn has emerged from her terrible two's, but the terrible three's still provide plenty of excitement. She loves to pretend, and she has a flair for drama. Maybe she'll act in plays at BHS someday! Add a couple of ferrets and a dog, and life at our house is never boring...
I completed my undergraduate work at Carthage College and my Master's degree at Graceland University in Iowa. To me, learning is a never-ending pursuit. My goal when working with students is to provide them challenges to extend their learning and show growth from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. I encourage them to set goals and evaluate their performance regularly. My daily schedule is as follows:
