Mrs. Behringer
Hello! My name is Megan Behringer & I am thrilled to begin my fifth year as part of the Cooper Elementary School family! I completed my undergraduate studies at Depaul University in Chicago, as well as my Master’s degree at Saint Xavier University. After spending six years teaching in Illinois as a first and fifth grade teacher, I moved to Wisconsin to teach third grade. This will be my third year on the first grade team at Cooper, and my twelfth year of teaching! It is my goal to ensure the best possible educational experience for my students. I am thrilled to be teaching the students of room 104!
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my children, Campbell & Ellaney, as well as my husband who is the Assistant Principal at both Dyer and Karcher Schools! My family lives all over the United States, therefore, we spend a great deal of our time traveling.
I believe that parent-teacher communication is essential to ensure an enriching educational experience for each student. Please feel free to contact me at: mebehringer@basd.k12.wi.us, or by calling the school at 763-1080. During the school day you may leave a message and I will respond to you between the hours of 7:30am and 4:00pm. Let’s make this a fun & productive school year!
Literacy Goals
One of the exciting elements of first grade is our journey throughout the year to expose and develop our students into energetic, avid readers. Through workshop approach, students will be given countless opportunities to be exposed to different literacy techniques and reading levels. For further information about reading in first grade and your student's level please do not hesitate to contact me or research using some of the links below.
