Principal Email Phone: LY 763-5380 / WI 539-2726 Hello and Welcome to Lyons Center!
My name is Sue Mosher, and I have had a long career in Burlington Area School District. I started teaching fourth grade at Waller Elementary in 1989. I then came to Lyons Center when it reopened in 1997, teaching third grade and fourth grade. In 2008 I became a principal and spent the first two years at Dover Center. In 2010, I came back to my Lyons home and have served as principal here since then.
My husband and I have two grown children and are now happy to be grandparents to four beautiful grandchildren. We love to spend our time with our family and our Great Pyrenees dog, Bella and our cat Smokey.
I’m proud to be a part of this wonderful school community with such a talented and caring staff and where our students learn in a safe and respectful environment. Students are taught through the best-practice strategies to inquire about the world around them. They become critical thinkers and build knowledge from connections to their own lives.
The staff is striving to build a professional learning community through collaboration and a focus on student learning. We seek to continually improve instruction by reflecting on and adjusting our teaching using answers to the following questions:
1. What knowledge and skills do we want students to know?
2. How will we know when the students have learned these skills?
3. How will we respond when some students do not learn?
4. What will we do for those students who have already learned it?
Together all of us, students, parents, support staff, teachers and principal, form the Lyons Center community. Collectively we make a difference in the success of our students.
Mrs. Susan Mosher
