Inter-District Open Enrollment
Burlington Area School District participates in the Wisconsin Inter-District Open Enrollment program. This program allows parents to apply for their children to attend a school district other than the one in which they live.
2025 Open Enrollment: Feb 3 - April 30
Parents must submit application forms, either online or to the non-resident district, from February 3, 2025 - April 30, 2025 (per 2019 Wisconsin Act 185) at 4 pm. Late applications will not be accepted. For further information concerning Open Enrollment or to access the online application, visit the Department of Public Instruction Open Enrollment website.
Parents are encouraged to submit their applications online. Instructions to assist with completing the online application which is also available on the DPI's Resources and Links webpage.
If needed, PAPER Application forms are available (English, Spanish, Hmong).
There is no tuition cost to parents for participation. Parents of open-enrolled students may be charged the same fees as resident students. Parents are responsible for transporting their children to and from school.

Alternative Open Enrollment allows open enrollment outside of the Spring OE window.
