My name is Debby Trewyn-Way, this is my twenty-fifth year in education.  I have been in my current position as a Montessori 1-3 grade teacher for the past ten years.  Every year has been exciting and memorable, as I have been lucky to teach such wonderful students.   Cooper Elementary is a great place where I truly enjoy being around such enthusiastic and dedicated teachers, students and parents.

I received an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in December of 1988.  In addition, I have earned two post graduate degrees; one in Principalship, and the other in Education.  As a Montessori educator, I am also certified and licensed by the American Montessori Society.

In my classroom, an atmosphere of safety, trust and respect is fostered.  I work hard to build a sense of community among my students, and I emphasize the idea of collaboration.  I believe that great things can happen when we work together.

My husband Chip and I, have four wonderful children together.  We enjoy spending time together as a family, biking, hiking, vacationing, and attending sporting events.
