Hello and welcome to a brand new school year! My name is Lori Radtke, and I am the School Social Worker at Cooper Montessori, Waller Elementary, Winkler Elementary, Dyer Elementary, and Lyons Center School. I have been employed by the Burlington Area School District since 2006. Prior to Burlington, I worked for 5 years for Racine County School Office Department of Special Education.
I received my BSW from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1995 and my MSW from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2000.
In my role as school social worker, I work with students on both an individual and group basis, meet with parents when their child is referred for a special education evaluation, collaborate with teachers and staff regarding student needs, and help parents find appropriate community resources and supports. These services can be accessed at the request of the student, the parent/guardian, or school personnel, on behalf of the student. In addition to being the school social worker for the elementary buildings, I also share the District Homeless Coordinator/Liaision position with Julia Fewell, who is the school social worker of the middle and high schools. In this position, I work with families that are identified as being homeless or are at-risk of being homeless.
Outside of school, I have two children, ages 10 and 13. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, watching movies, running, and spending time with friends and family.
If you need to reach me, please feel free to contact me at (262) 763-0180 ext. 2224.
