Burlington Buddies Playgroup

Looking for a fun and meaningful experience for your 3-year-old? Join our Burlington Buddies playgroup!
This inclusive program at Dyer Elementary brings together children of all abilities for fun, engaging, and educational activities. Sessions meet twice a week for five weeks, with each session lasting 90 minutes.
We are looking for same-age peers who have met all typical developmental milestones to be models for peers with special education needs.

WHO: All 3 year old children
WHERE: Dyer Elementary School
COST: Free!
WHEN: First session is from 9/14/26 - 10/23/26

Community Free Clothing and More Giveaway! 9:00 am - 1:30 pm Saturday, August 8, 2026

Thanks to our amazing community, we're now celebrating 11 years of helping local families and our neighbors with free clothing, shoes, coats, school supplies, baby items, and more.
This year we'll also have our Baby Room stocked with diapers and other baby necessities for families who need them. This event is open to everyone! Everything is completely free! No sign-up, no questions asked.
Bring a bag and a friend!
Kids can enter for a chance to WIN a free bike!

Free Summer Lunch Program

Karcher Middle School, along with Aramark and the USDA are offering a free summer food service program to all children 18 years of age and under. The free summer food program offers breakfast 7:15am-8:30am and lunch 11:00am - 12:30pm, Monday - Friday through August 14, 2026. Meals must be consumed at Karcher Middle School, 300 Wainwright Ave, Burlington, WI 53105.

The Community Newsletter put out by Aurora highlights programs and offerings available within Burlington and surrounding communities between July - September 2026. Safe Sitter Essentials - August 12, 2026

Designed to prepare 6-8th grade students to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The Instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use manikins to practice rescue skills like choking rescue! Class fee is $25 to cover the cost of the Safe Sitter Handbook each student keeps.

FREE classes to learn English offered by GTC

Gateway’s English Language Learning (ELL) program offers instruction in reading, vocabulary, writing, grammar, listening and speaking. Classes meet two days a week for six hours per week. Multiple levels of classes are offered.

What do I need to do?
• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You will need a photo ID.
• Students are required to purchase a set of books. Books cost approximately $55
(subject to change without notice).
• Attend a two-day orientation
Before attending classes you must first complete a 2-day orientation session in which you will learn about Gateway, learn your English level, and register for classes.
