Exploring the Wetlands at Wehr Nature Center
Our second graders had a great day learning outside at Wehr Nature Center! The trip started with a presentation about wetlands, where students learned which animals live there and how they’re all connected through the food chain. Then we went on a nature walk to find some of the plants and animals we’d just learned about. The kids spotted wild turkeys, bluegills, a fuzzy caterpillar, duckweed, and lily pads. Seeing it all up close helped them understand how everything in a wetland depends on everything else. It was a wonderful way to bring our learning to life!
