Pumpkin Fun in Mrs. Annett’s 4K Class 🍁
Throughout October, Mrs. Annett’s 4K class learned all about pumpkins: how they grow and the many ways they can be used. The students did lots of hands-on, pumpkin-themed activities in math, fine motor, and literacy.
The sensory table became a pretend pumpkin pie-making station, where the students explored different materials and used their imaginations. The next week, they got to explore a real pumpkin in the sensory bin. The dramatic play area also became a pumpkin farm, which gave them more chances for creative, imaginative play.
To practice name recognition, the 4K students put the letters of their names in the correct order to build their own pumpkin puzzles. They also learned the parts of a pumpkin and explored real pumpkins by looking, smelling, and touching.
