My name is Mrs. Dawn Salbreiter and this is my 21st year as a Spanish teacher at Karcher Middle School. I graduated in 2002 from UW - Eau Claire with majors in both Spanish and Organizational Communication and shortly after became certified to teach Spanish 6-12. I received my Masters degree in Education from Viterbo University in LaCrosse, Wisconsin in 2006. My academic interests include Latin American history and human rights as well as Spanish art, history, and pop culture.
Aside from having a Spanish degree, I also studied abroad for a semester in Seville, Spain during my second year of college. Since then, I have traveled to other Spanish-speaking countries such as Mexico and the Dominican Republic. I have a passion for travel, especially to places where I can use and better my language skills! But I also have enjoyed traveling to other destinations ranging from Yellowstone National Park to Zion National Park in Utah to Jamaica to Kentucky and Florida.
Outside of school I am mostly kept busy by my 3 children and their activities. I am a big fan of the Milwaukee Brewers, Bucks, and the Green Bay Packers. I love spending time with my family, my friends, and my two cats.
I can't wait to help my students learn Spanish this year! Knowing Spanish is a skill I know they will find useful in today's ever-changing and diverse world. Parents, if you have any questions regarding your child's study of Spanish this year I can be most easily contacted by email.
