These are the basic rules in the third grade classrooms. These rules will be in effect at all times:
Follow directions the first time they are given.
Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
No loud noises, name-calling or teasing.
Raise your hand and wait to be called on.
Be quiet in the hallways and bathrooms.
If a child chooses to continue to break the rules after we have given a fair number of reminders, these consequences will be imposed:
1. Warning - name on the board
2. 5 minutes off recess
3. 10 minutes off recess
4. No recess
5. Call or write parents
6. Principal (severe problems only).
Students who behave appropriately and who follow the classroom rules will be positively rewarded with praise, positive notes home, small rewards, class parties, and other special privileges. Throughout the year we will often have additional incentive projects for specific behavior using stickers and other reward systems. They add a bit of fun to the day while working on the behaviors that are so important in a school setting. These are our expectations for your child in our classrooms. We have discussed them with the children at school. We need your support for these expectations and we need you to let your child know that you support these classroom rules and standards. You are the most important person in your child’s life, and the children need to know we will work together to make school the best experience possible for them.
