My name is Mr. Kevin Fay. I teach Chemistry, Advanced Placement Chemistry, and Physics at Burlington High School. Burlington High is a 9-12 school located in the city of Burlington, population approximately 10,000. |
I have my Master's of Science Degree in the teaching of Physics at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls. |
I have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Here's where you can go if you want to find out more about UW-Madison. |
Physics is the science of matter and energy and is offered mainly to Juniors and Seniors at B.H.S. Topics covered in Physics include: Vectors, Kinematics, Rotational Motion, Sound, Light (Optics), Heat (Thermodynamics), Music (Acoustics), Electricity and Magnetism, and Relativity. Chemistry is the study of the composition and structure of matter, and is taken primarily by sophomores at Burlington. They must have at least a C in algebra. AP Chemistry is an advanced level Chemistry course and is for students who want to get a head start in college Chemistry. If they pass the AP test in May they can, depending on the school, opt out of certain intro level courses. Most of my students take the AP course as a background for careers in chemistry, medicine, veterinary medicine, or pharmacy. Here are some cool chemistry links.
