The IT Department has office hours (by appointment only) to handle any chromebook issues and to check out loaners. Set an appointment by email or phone (see above).
Plug power adapter into chromebook and check to see if the red light is on.
Power adapter may be plugged into either side of the chromebook, try both sides to see if red light comes on.
Check the power adapter to be sure that the two parts are tightly attached together.
