Spanish Teacher Email Phone: 262-763-0200 ¡Bienvenidos!
!Hola!
Me llamo Señora Dennert. I started teaching at BHS in the fall of 2014 as a long-term sub for Sr. Caldwell. Since then I've been teaching Spanish I, II and Spanish for Spanish Speakers. I graduated from North Park University in Chicago, IL with a B.A. in Spanish and Secondary Teaching. I taught two years in Minneapolis, MN at Minnehaha Academy at the middle and high school levels. Thereafter, I was the Director of Youth Ministry at Covenant Harbor Bible Camp for six years. I was able to utilize my Spanish working with campers and staff as well as my education degree in implementing camper programs. Most recently, I worked at George Williams College of Aurora University and completed my Master of Arts in Curriculum Instruction with ESL cerfification.
I love being outside whether riding my bike, walking along the lake, snowshoeing, downhill skiing or sitting by a campfire when camping. I am married, I have a stepdaughter Ava, a 22 year old cat named Nieva, and love the Spanish language and culture.
I have traveled to Canada, Sweden and Finland, Belize, Guatemala, Mexico, Panamá, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and hope to visit Spain one day.
I hope you will love the Spanish culture as much as I do! I am excited to be at BHS and buena suerte en el próximo año.
Supplies: Dry erase marker and eraser, pencil/eraser, a red pen, loose leaf paper or a spiral notebook, a folder/binder and an open mind and willingness to try!
