BHS Bands
There are several band ensembles that serve as BHS classes and perform throughout the year. Beyond the band courses, the program offers numerous opportunities for students to learn, perform, make friends, and even travel. For more information contact Mr. Galitz.
A Capella

B*JAZZled
BHS’s Competitive Show Choir performs and competes musical routines throughout the year usually in the evenings and on weekends. Students must be in a choir class. Practices are typically held twice a week in the evenings for 2 1/2 hours and on some Sunday afternoons closer to competitions. Auditions are held in the spring for following year. See Ms. Yanke for more info.
Forensics
Forensics is for students who wish to practice the art of public speaking and compete in competitions. There are 16 different categories from which to choose. From play acting to extemporaneous speaking – there is something for everyone! Competitions/rehearsals are typically Saturdays, January through March with weekly after school practices. See Mr. Nie or Ms. Twohig to sign up.
Juggling Club
This club spreads the joy or juggling, unicycling, stilts, hula-hooping, and more. It offers snacks and opportunities to earn community service, such as performing in parades, at public library events, at NAMI bike and hike, etc. Meetings are weekly. See Mrs. Brenneman for more info.
Koral Klub
For students in a choir class. Koral Klub sponsors the variety show and travels to various locations (NYC, Chicago, Orlando, LA, etc.) for performances. The club meets at least twice a month. See Ms. Yanke for more info.
Midnight Jazz Band
Midnight Jazz is made up primarily of freshmen. They play for Winter Concert, BASD Jazz Fest, and Spring Concert. Rehearsals are twice a week. For auditions and more info, contact Mr. Galitz.
Musical
We produce a full-scale Broadway-style musical every year. Rehearsals are after-school/evenings and on weekends before the performances. Students can audition for a role or volunteer for backstage duties. See Ms. Yanke for more info.
National Art Honor Society
Eligible Art students (GPA/Grade requirement) meet approximately once a week throughout the year to work on public art for community service and their own artwork. Various events and a trip to an art museum also happen. $5.00 Membership dues are required. See Mrs. McCanna for more information.
One Act Play
This fall activity prepares a 40-minute One Act play for a public performance here at BHS and for competition with the Wisconsin High School Forensic Association Theatre division. Rehearsals are typically after school and on weekends with various show dates. Auditions are open to everyone the first week of school and crew members are always needed. Variety Show
When offered, performance acts and backstage crew are always needed. See Ms. Yanke with any questions.
WBSD
WBSD is a full-fledged FM radio station that “charts” nationally on College Music Journal and FMQB. We are respected as an innovative station playing many groups and artists who have never been heard by American artists. Students can learn to DJ, show host, and do all aspects of a real radio station such as selecting music, listening to countless songs and groups, and researching, and writing liner notes.
