High School Juniors or Seniors may become a volunteer with the Racine Literacy Council. Interns assist with RCL's Family Literacy Program at one of two area sites. Volunteers work with pre-school and elementary students, assisting them with basic literacy skills and activities.
Family Literacy runs from mid-January to late May and takes place at the following days and locations:
• Tuesdays, 5:15-7:15 p.m., Waller Elementary School, 195 Gardner Ave., Burlington
• Thursdays, 5:15-7:15 p.m., Waterford Community Church, 455 S. Jefferson St.,
Waterford
Applicants must submit a resume, along with a teacher recommendation, and interview with the Family Literacy Coordinator.
